Following kinds are extended: a linden the basic, or with small leaves (T. cordata) - Small leaved lime (grows in an average and southern strip of the European part of the country),Western Siberia, in Crimea and on caucasus; a linden with the big leaves (T. platyphyllos) (grows only on caucasus); a linden amurensis (T. amurensis) - in the Far East. A linden - breed without a kernel.

Wood white with an easy pinkish shade; year layers are poorly appreciable only on cuts, narrow central beams are visible only on cuts.

Linden wood has a homogeneous structure, soft, is easily cut, bursts a little and spoils poorly, used for manufacturing of drawing accessories, models for moulding, pencils, carved products, toys, container. It is applied in the form of an interline interval to plywood manufacturing.

In mosaic works it is used for large and average textural inserts at sets of ornaments. The linden concerns breeds which do not burst almost and dry out a little.

Thanks to uniformity of a structure and a uniform structure of wood fibres, the linden is the best material for a carving. Softness and a wood pliability allow to use a linden for manufacturing of drawing boards.
